Meet Marcus Troy

Hello, I’m Marcus…

and I’m a New York based actor with connections in Chicago and the Mid-Atlantic region. I was born and raised in the DC area where I studied theater at Virginia Tech and The Catholic University. I worked 25+ years in the restaurant industry, because that’s what actors do (LOL), and am also a fully trained Massage Therapist.

I started my professional acting career in many productions both amateur and professional in the WDC metropolitan area and got my first taste of a Hollywood blockbuster when I was cast as Aide #2 in “Enemy of the State” using the name Thomas Troy, ahhh youth.

I’m very proud to have been a part of two (hopefully) tv series, “Emigre” by Freddie Connor and Calm Pictures and “UpCode” by Jerry Topitzer and Roan Tree Productions. In addition to the Award Winning Short Film “Ride The Wave” by Scott Morrell and Rob Alicia, and Brooklyn Rose Films.

I recognize that I am not the cookie cutter “type”. However, that has served me well in that I had the immense privilege to be cast as the Appraiser in Colin In Black & White directed by Ava DuVernay and Mr. Michaels the “enthusiastic florist” in Yuletide The Knot directed by Nanea Miyata.

I also enjoy performing in Live Theatre where my look was perfect for Chief Beatty in 4.5.1. by Kenneth Hunn, an original adaptation of Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451. BUT… if the role is right and challenging the beard is just hair that grows back and I did become clean shaven in order to portray George/Valentina in The Heights Players production of Casa Valentina by Harvey Fierstein.

When not performing, taking classes, helping friends with auditions, doing staged readings or belting out showtunes in the car, I enjoy being a househusband.

Feel free to keep up with my adventures via Instagram and drop a note to say “hello”.

P.S If you’re and Agent or Manager who’s not scared off by my uniqueness, I’m ready to have a chat about our joining forces!
